Following P.M.News publication of a couple blessed with quadruplets at the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, public-spirited Nigerians have started donating money and materials for the upkeep of the children.
P.M.News gathered that the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Dr. Remi Desalu, went to the hospital on Wednesday, while the Executive Secretary of Itire/Ikate Local Council Development Area, Mr. Immaculus Yemi Da-Silva, and other staff of the council were there on Thursday to rejoice with the family. They also gave them various items ranging from foodstuffs to baby materials.
Speaking with P.M.News at the event, Mr. Da-Silva said they came to celebrate with the family and also to give them financial assistance and other materials to support the couple. Father of the quadruplets, he disclosed, is a staff of the local government.
Also speaking at the occasion, Mrs. Yvonne Da-Silva, appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to assist the couple, stressing that to take care of one child was not easy, not to talk of caring for four at once. He appealed to Nigerians to come to the aid of the couple by rendering financial assistance and providing materials for the upkeep of the children
