A bus driver who could not get himself a steady job has narrated why he had to kill his mother, who he accused of causing his misfortune. If the act could shock you, then you have a worse treat from the abominable man who told Saturday Sun in a chat that his mother deserved to die. Because of his position that the mother was the source of his ill lucks, he has no remorse for the act.

Twenty-three-year-old Ligali Adubi who is being held for the murder of his 60-year-old mother, who was found strangled last Thursday week, told Saturday Sun that each time he informed his mother that he had been given a bus to drive, the owner would sack him soon after.

Detectives found out that the woman was strangled with a tennis wire, after while her son disappeared from the house at Odo-ogun Village, in the Ajegunle area of Lagos.

At first, when members of the family confronted Ligali over the death, he was said to have pursued them with a machete and this frightened father who had to call in the police.
But the police couldn't find the suspect until a man came to the station at Owode Orun with a report that somebody he knew had stolen his phone.

When the police went after the suspect, he turned out to be the wanted man.
Ligali, the third of five children, did not look sober as h maintains his mother deserved to die because she made him face a string of misfortunes.

'My mother never wished me well. If the owner of a bus should give it to me to drive, immediately, I tell my mother about it, the owner would collect it after three days.
'I confronted my mother that she was the one behind my failure because anytime I tell her that I am progressing, I would fail".

He further said that he made a resolve to kill her when she could not get a solution to his problems.
He said 'I told her that if she claims that she is not behind my failure, she should get me a cure. But she said she did not know what I was talking about.

'When everybody in the house was sleeping last Sunday night, she went to use the toilet.
When she came back from the toilet, I went into her room and asked her again if she was behind my problems. When she said'no', I told her that she would not talk again as I was going to kill her. I then took a tennis wire and strangled her", he said.

Ligali also confessed that he sacked his whole village with a machete, he said: ' I noticed that everybody was running away from me at Ajegunle where I went to seek refuge. I later learnt that my father and siblings had told everybody to avoid me because I killed my mum. I went back to threaten them".
When asked what judgement he thought he deserved, he said: ' I should be punished according to my offence.
