The suspects were identified as Samson Adeyemi, who resides at Ibafo, Ogun State and Luqmon Jimoh, who resides at 12, Atan Road, Atan Village, Owode, Ogun State.

They were arrested by detectives from the Zone 2 Police Command after robbing guests at Oparo Hotel, Fagba, Iju.

The ring leader, identified as Saheed, it was gathered, escaped with gunshot injury.

Items recovered from them include one locally made pistol, two GSM handsets, a motorcycle and a Tiger generating set.

In his confession to the police, Luqmon Jimoh said: 'We have been in this business for the past three years. We specialised in using Okada to rob motorists and road users around Idiroko border. We mostly concentrate on traders going to Cotonou from Sango Ota because they always go with huge sums of money.

'We use Okada to either block a fully loaded inter-border commercial vehicles at Sango Ota and robbed them of their belongings after diverting the bus into a bush path. We normally realise between N500,000 and N1.2 million.

'I usually receive N300,000 and N100,000, depending on the success of our operation.

'I was introduced into the business by Saheed and we have never killed anybody since we started. We only shot one Indian national in the leg when we robbed him of N200,000 at Sango-Ota early this year.'

The suspects are currently being detained at the Zone II Command.
