Suspected armed robbers on Sunday in Lagos knocked down a Police Inspector attached to the former Lagos State governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The victim, identified as Inspector Muyiwa Peters, was said to be outside Tinubu's residence in Ikoyi chatting with two of his colleagues when the hoodlums attempted to crush the three policemen with their vehicle.

The incident, which occurred at about 8a.m, a source disclosed, got Tinubu angry who later complained to the police authority about the carelessness of officers attached to him.
A source said the Sergeant and the Corporal were lucky to have escaped unhurt except Peters who sustained injury.

The hoodlums stopped and quickly collected Peters' AK 47 rifle and two magazines and sped-off. Nobody released a single shot, same source said.
Daily Sun gathered that the police authority did not take the matter lightly as it ordered the immediate arrest of the attached police officers.
The authority also sent signals to all police formations in the state to fish out the fleeing hoodlums.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Frank Mba said he was yet to be briefed about the incident.
