The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, has been relieved of his job, this afternoon.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, has been relieved of his job, this afternoon.
He is replaced with Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, former Defence minister. Before Kingibe's sack, rumours were rife that he was scheming to replace his boss, president Umar Yar'Adua, on the premise that the latter may be weighed down by his consistent ailment.
Though Kingibe recently quelled the rumour, he hinted then that he would indeed have been fired by Yar'Adua, but for his loyalty to the president. However, that loyalty appears to have sunk, as the suave politician has eventually been laid off.
