Two female students of Prof. Ambrose Ali University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo state have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a two-year-old and demanding N1 million ransom.

Two female students of Prof. Ambrose Ali University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo state have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a two-year-old and demanding N1 million ransom.
Also arrested by the Lagos State Police Command were two boys who attempted to kidnap a boy.
Parading the suspects at the State Command Headquarters, Ikeja, the state commissioner of Police, Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo, said that Mrs. Obaro Oseha Maria of CBN Estate II, Alakija, reported that his son was kidnapped by unknown persons who were demanding for a ransom of N1 million.
The CP said he drafted a joint team of operatives from the Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CIB) and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to rescue the boy and fish out the kidnappers.
He revealed that the police set a bait for the kidnappers in Lagos, but they shifted base to Benin city, Edo State.
According to him, the team travelled to Benin with the suspects'parents, adding that the kidnappers were lured out of their hiding, ostensibly to collect the ransom. In the process, two female suspects, Otibhor Ijie and Nkechi Konyeha, all students of AAU, Ekpoma, were arrested and the kidnapped child rescued.
The police commissioner further revealed that two other suspects, who were taking away a 10-year-old child, were also demanding N6 million ransom. They were arrested and the boy was rescued.
Akpoyibo warned parents to be wary of the type of maid and relations they live with because one of the female suspects was a relation of the kidnapped boy's mother.
The two other suspects, who attempted kidnapping the 10-year-old boy, were also family friends of the boy's family.
However, when Daily Sun spoke with one of the female suspects, Obibhor, he said: 'We were three that organized the kidnap but I am the mastermind. I am a 400 level student of Edo State University. I will soon graduate but my aunty has not been assisting me in my education. I needed money to complete my project that was why I organized the kidnap, because I know she is rich, after all, she is a banker.
