Supporters of Action Congress (AC) in Isolo have protested the imposition of Mrs. Modupe Fafowora-Oseghale on them as the party's chairmanship candidate for Isolo Local Council Development Area.
The protesters numbering about 2,000 yesterday stormed the Alausa secretariat, Ikeja, seat of the state government to reject Oseghale's endorsement by leaders of the party as the chairmanship candidate.
Oseghale who was the past chairman of the council was accused of not executing any developmental project in the area during his first term.
On arriving the secretariat, the protesters made their way to the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political and Legislative Matters to express their disappointment with the choice of Oseghale and the absolute neglect of Isolo in the provision of infrastructure.
They insisted that Oseghale should be removed and never allowed to re-contest any political office in the state again because of her poor performance.
One of the protesters, Mr. Idowu Razak, from Ward F2, Ilasamaja, accused Oseghale of lacking vision and failure to carry the people along in the administration of the council.
He blamed the poor condition of roads in the local government on the ineptitude of the former chairman, who he said, lacks the vision to transform the area.
In his own words, Mr. Surakat Raheem, accused Oseghale of making herself inaccessible to the people during her first tenure, adding that she does not understand the problems facing the local council.
While pledging their unwavering support for the government of Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), they implored him to move fast and stop the imposition of Oseghale on them.
'We shall fight against her coming back to that position with the last drop of our blood,' another AC supporter vowed.
