Five persons were feared dead this morning, when a lorry carrying frozen fish, with the suspected owners of the fish on board, crashed into the Ogun River at Kara Bus Stop, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Five persons were feared dead this morning, when a lorry carrying frozen fish, with the suspected owners of the fish on board, crashed into the Ogun River at Kara Bus Stop, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
An eyewitness informed P.M.News that the lorry was heading toward the Ibadan end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, when the accident occurred at Kara, a boundary town between Lagos and Ogun states.
As at the time of filing this report, commuters reportedly milled around the scene of the accident while the lorry could not be located or sighted inside the river. Rescue operation was yet to commence as at press time.
The eyewitness said sympathisers merely gathered at the scene of the incident without knowing what to do. When P.M.News contacted the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, a top official said the agency was not aware of the accident, but promised to mobilise their staff for necessary rescue work, as soon as possible.
