Scores of eminent sons and daughters of Igboland, at the weekend, converged on the palace of the Eze Nd'Igbo of Lagos State, Hyacinth Nwabueze Ohazulike, to witness the official installation of Ogbuefi Ikem Agbasi as the new Prime Minister of Nd'Igbo.
Scores of eminent sons and daughters of Igboland, at the weekend, converged on the palace of the Eze Nd'Igbo of Lagos State, Hyacinth Nwabueze Ohazulike, to witness the official installation of Ogbuefi Ikem Agbasi as the new Prime Minister of Nd'Igbo.
The rites of installation of Agbasi as Prime Minister were performed by Eze Nwabueze Ohazulike, Eze Mkpume II, assisted by members of the Eze-in-council.
During the formal handing over of the instrument of office to Agbasi, the monarch expressed confidence in his ability to take up the challenges associated with his new office, and offered prayers for divine guidance for him.
Answering questions from journalists, Agbasi who is a Mechanical Engineer and an indigene of Enugu State, said he felt honoured with his installation as the new Prime Minister of Nd'Igbo in Lagos State, adding: 'I know that it is a great challenge and a big burden I have to carry. I am not going to disappoint my people. I am equal to the task.'
His wife, Mrs. Uche Vidah Agbasi, also promised to support her husband to ensure his success in his new position.
