Three suspected ritualists, Evangelist Prophet Kayode Gbesu Waniya of Tanzunkanme, Ajara, Badagry Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State, Mr. Bewere Olaitan, 55, a native of Iyasi Village in Ipokia LGA, Ogun State and Mr. Sewanu Gbaokeadan of Avonji area in Tube also of Ipokia LGA, have been arrested and dragged to the Ipokia Magistrate's Court in Ogun State.

The were accused of attempting to kidnap a 10-year-old boy for money making ritual.

The victim was rescued following the arrest of the suspects who have now been remanded in prison custody.

P.M.News reliably gathered that prophet Kayode Gbesu Waniya had promised to make Bewere Olaitan attain financial freedom if he could bring the head of a human being, whose name and that of the mother he knows, for a special money-making soap.

Olaitan, we further gathered, contacted a friend of his, Sewanu Gbaokeadan, who allegedly voluntered to produce the son of his cousin, Mrs. Joy Satowanu, for the ritual.

A reliable source told P.M.News that on Thursday, 31 July, 2008, Olaitan and his friend went to meet prophet Gbesu Waniyan also known as Onse at Tanzunkanme and told him that they had got a boy whom they would bring later in the day.

The prophet was said to have given them N2,000 as transport fare and warned them not to disappoint him.

Said the source: 'At about 6.30 p.m. that day, Sewanu Gboakeadan tricked little Sashe Josu Satowanu to follow him to his farm without informing the parents of the boy.

'He took the boy on a motorcycle to his friend, Mr. Bewere Olaitan at Iyasi Village where they both took the boy to prophet Kayode Gbesu Waniyan at Tanzunkanne, Ajara in Badagry Local Government, Lagos State.

'They arrived the place at 8.30 p.m. and handed over the boy to the prophet as promised. The prophet then took Olaitan, Gbaokeadan and the okada rider that conveyed them to a nearby beer parlour where he bought them beer and gave them another N2,000 for their transport fare.

'Olaitan and his friend left Tanzunkanne at 10.00 p.m. that day, leaving the boy with the prophet.'

P.M.News, however, learnt that the lid was blown off the dastardly act of the trio when the first commercial motorcyclist, Mr. Agodu Tudonu, who earlier took both Gbaokeadan and Satowanu but had to drop them because he ran out of fuel, told the distraught mother of the missing boy and the community that he saw the boy with the latter.

The case was reported to the vigilance group in Idosemo via Ipokia who arrested the culprits and took them to their base where they made confessional statements on Friday, 1 August, 2008. The following day, both Olaitan and Gbaokeadan were taken to Tanzunkanme by the vigilance group where Waniyan was arrested and the yet to be beheaded boy taken to their base.

The prophet confessed to P.M.News at the base of the vigilance in Idosemo that he told Olaitan to bring the head of a human whose name and that of the mother he knows for money-making soap.

'Bewere Olaitan has been my long time customer. He sought my spiritual assistance to be rich and I told him to bring the head of a human being whose name and that of the mother he knows which I will use to prepare money making soap for the use of the three of us that are involved,' Gbesu Waniyan told P.M.News.

Also speaking, Bewere Olaitan said: 'He always tells me he made most of the big men in this country rich. That is why I approached him to help me become rich like the others he had helped.

'Prophet Kayode Gbesu Waniya then told me that the only way to be rich like others is to get the head of a person I know his or her name and that of the mother and bring it to him. The head, he said, will be used to prepare a special money making soap.'

Though Prophet Gbesu Waniya said he worships at the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Ajara Parish, investigation conducted by P.M.News revealed that he attends CCC Jesu Lo'lugbala Parish, Agric Area, Ajara in Badagry LEA.

Meanwhile, further hearing in the case of the trio has been fixed for Monday, 8 September, 2008.
