Though Nigeria is ruled by evil men, God resides here –Senator Ben Obi

The moral decadence and high level of corruption in Nigeria has been attributed to the nature of Nigeria’s leadership over the years.

The moral decadence and high level of corruption in Nigeria has been attributed to the nature of Nigeria’s leadership over the years.
This is the view of Senator Ben Obi, Action Congress (AC) Vice Presidential candidate in the 2007 elections “Evil people have been leading this country over the years. Any time, there is an ‘election’, a more deadly person emerges.

Nigerians didn’t vote for them. They were simply forced on the nation”.
Senator Obi made this known at the launching of Our Redeemer Cares Organization, an NGO noted that no government exhited such cavalier attitude to the well-being of Nigerians more than the Obasanjo’s administration. He described Obasanjo as a bad product which was difficult to market, adding:”the greatest demonic punishment this country witnessed in eight years was through Obasanjo”.
He stressed that, “but for the caring of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, this country would have gone under, years ago. The good Lord resides in Nigeria.

“We’ve corrupted the executive, we’ve corrupted the legislature, we’ve corrupted the judiciary, we’ve even, corrupted the fourth estate of the realm as well as the military.
Averring that he is “a Christian political soldier”, the Senator maintained that like many Nigerians, he is also a victim of the sustained injustice in the system. “I’ve been a victim of governmental oppression and denial”.

He said that he has toured the country extensively, bemoaning the destructive spiral poverty in the land despite its enormous natural resources and manpower.
He said: “It is an abomination to suffer in the midst of plenty. With what we have in this country, we should live well.

There’s no justification for the untold hardship majority of Nigerians are going through”.
Senator Obi therefore, charged the leadership to be attuned to the urgent task of meeting the aspirations and expectations of the people.
