Barely 24 hours after she was kidnapped from their Oyigbo residence near Port Harcourt, three- year-old Miss Purity Ogu, daughter of the younger brother of Apostle Eugene Ogu, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Rivers State, has regained her freedom, thanks to the State Police Command.
Barely 24 hours after she was kidnapped from their Oyigbo residence near Port Harcourt, three- year-old Miss Purity Ogu, daughter of the younger brother of Apostle Eugene Ogu, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Rivers State, has regained her freedom, thanks to the State Police Command.
The little girl whose father, Rev. Peter Ogu heads the Oyigbo branch of Abundant Life Ministries, was dumped at the Port Harcourt terminus of a Transport Company, Agofure Motors, Monday Morning.
It was gathered that shortly after the kid was abducted, Police detectives swung into action and following a description of the kidnapper who was later identified as Samuel Wills, and got him on his GSM handset.
Before then, the suspect had called the family of his innocent hostage variously demanding, N16 million, N15 million and N2 million ransom.
Police sources told Daily Sun that the detectives made him realize the consequences of his action on his family and apparently not ready to risk the comfort and rights of his relations, dumped the girl at the transport company's premises and escaped.
Confirming the development, Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Rita Inoma-Abbey (DSP) said efforts were in top gear to trace kidnappers whereabouts.
It would be recalled that an armed gang stormed the residence of Apostle Eugene Ogu about one month ago and wounded a police Sergeant on guard at the premises.
Police Patrol team later went in pursuit of the gang and killed one of them as they made their escape through a swamp.
