Police in Rivers State have arrested members of a 5-man robbery gang, who, after robbing their victim N6 million, engaged themselves in free-for-all-fight over sharing arrangement.
It was during the fracas that they were rounded up by the police.
The suspects are, Akam Etim, Joseph Briggs, Jeremiah Samuel, Daddy Emmanuel and Victor Udofia. They were said to have successfully carried out a robbery operation, where they shot their victim but problem started as they were sharing their booty.
Another victim, Somina Ikirilo, recalled how a member of the gang, Etim once stabbed him on his neck twice and stole his N95, 000. And it was after the incident that he and members of his gang went for the robbery operation that saw them in the police net.
"It was one of my neighbours, who told me that Etim had been arrested by policemen from Diobu police station," he said.
The Rivers state police commissioner, Mr. Bala Hassan, told Daily Sun that the suspects struck along Njemunze Waterfront, Port Harcourt, where they carted away some money and shot the owner of a Mercedes Benz car.
He said they would appear in court soon at the conclusion of investigations.
