For effective national security and a level playing field among domestic operators, the Federal Government yesterday ordered Virgin Nigeria Airways and Arik Air to relocate their domestic operations to Murtala Muhammed Airport terminal 2 (MMA 2).
For effective national security and a level playing field among domestic operators, the Federal Government yesterday ordered Virgin Nigeria Airways and Arik Air to relocate their domestic operations to Murtala Muhammed Airport terminal 2 (MMA 2).
The directive came via the Ministry of Transportation and available to pressmen on Monday.
The initial directive came late last year but the airline headed for the Federal High Court and got an injunction stopping the government from forcing it into the new terminal.
Arik Air heeded the call and moved its operations into the General Aviation Terminal (GAT).
A source close to Virgin Nigeria said the airline will know the next line of action once it receives the letter from government.
Already, Arik has secured an office space at the MMA 2 and has been putting necessary logistics to ensure its operations in the new location runs smoothly.
