DRAMA: Cat Turns Into Woman


Confusion reigned supreme this morning at Papa Ashafa, Agege, when thousands of Lagosians surrounded an old woman whom they claimed changed from a cat.

Confusion reigned supreme this morning at Papa Ashafa, Agege, when thousands of Lagosians surrounded an old woman whom they claimed changed from a cat.


The confusion was so much that Ogunjebe Street, the scene of the incident was jampacked with curious Lagosians from far and near who tried to catch a glimpse of the cat which allegedly turned into a woman.


Those who spoke with P.M.News alleged that the cat fell from the sky into the compound but later changed into a woman.


A tenant residing at 36, Ogunjebe Street, Papa Ashafa, Sunday Ajayi, claimed that he was woken  up around 1.30 a.m. by other tenants who said they saw a strange woman in the compound.


He claimed that the woman said she fell from the sky during interrogation.


Ajayi said he and other tenants were puzzled about how the woman got into the house since the doors of the house were firmly locked in the night.


Another tenant, Taofeek Ayinla corroborated Ajayi's statement, saying that the old woman was wearing a black apparel when they saw her.


A female tenant who gave her name as Iya Peju, said it was a black cat which fell from the sky into the compound but later changed into a woman.


'It was incredible. The black cat turned into an old woman. She was washing all the water bowls in the passage," Iya Peju stated.


Another carpenter in the neighbourhood who refused to disclose his name, said cats of various sizes have been disturbing residents of Ogunjebe Street of recent.


'I believe that one of the cats must have turned into the woman because they have been disturbing us. You will find cats jumping and running on our ceilings and roofs," he stated.


'They will be crying like human babies. It is our hot prayers that brought one of them down. She is a witch," the carpenter stated agitatedly.


P.M.News also witnessed the interrogation of the alleged witch who told her interrogators that she was pulled down from the sky by a powerful force.


She said she was going for an assignment when something struck her and forced her down.


On how she entered the house, the old woman who spoke incoherently said she wanted to collect the money owed her by one of the tenants in the neighbourhood.


A crowd at the scene where it was claimed that a cat turned into woman in Papa Asafa, Agege, Lagos.She pleaded with her interrogators to release her because her children and colleagues were waiting for her.


A relation of the alleged witch who identified himself as Kehinde Nurudeen Sokunbi, told P.M.News to disregard all the lies told against her, saying she was not a witch but a mentally disturbed woman.


He identified her name as Afusat and that she was married to three men and had seven children.


'She is a victim of mental disorder. Her name is Afusat. She was married to three husbands and had seven children," he disclosed.


Sokunbi could not, however, explain how the old woman got into the house where she was found.


P.M.News investigations revealed further that the woman lives at B1/57 Bakare Lane, Agege, a short distance from where she was found at Ogunjebe Street, Papa Ashafa, Agege.


Members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) were about giving the alleged witch a concoction to drink to make her confess and disclosed her other colleagues as at the time of filing this report
