In a bid to find a lasting solution to the on-going crisis rocking the Ekiti State House of Assembly, the state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is approaching the issue from different fronts as Prince Gbadebo Ibuoye, the chairman of the peace committee set up by the party for reconciliation of the two factional groups in the House has assured the people of an end to the crisis soon.

The nine-man Peace Committee was set up by the party following the removal of the state House of Assembly Speaker, Femi Bamisile, under a controversial circumstance on July 8. He was replaced by Tunji Odeyemi.

Ibuoye disclosed to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, that the committee has deliberated with the two factions involved in the crisis and fashioned out a 'comprehensive and all embracing report" capable of putting a final end to the assembly crisis.

According to him, the committee didn't engage itself in blaming any of the aggrieved legislators because 'the cracks must not be allowed in the walls so as to avoid evil reptiles entering into them."
He was, however, diplomatic about the allegation that the 18 lawmakers, who carried out the impeachment were instigated by a former governor in the South West, saying 'as far as we are concerned, we discovered that everybody wants to be relevant. It was not within the purview of my committee to investigate who sponsored them but to find a lasting solution to the crisis."

The committee is vested with the responsibility of investigating the immediate and remote cause of the crisis among 13 PDP lawmakers and the roles played by them in the impeachment saga.
An Elders Committee earlier set up by the party, which was headed by the ex- deputy governor of the state, Chief Paul Alabi, was aimed at putting the House on the path of peace.
