This fateful day, Ladi and friends went to a nearby bush to pick cashew nuts. UnkLittle did she know that she would meet her untimely death in the hands of a deviant farm labourer.
Aliyu Haruna, a 29-year- old farm labourer abducted little Ladi, sexually abused her and brutally clubbed her to death with the hoe a hoe. He killed the child to conceal his evil deed.
Nemesis later caught up with him as he fled Niger State where the crime was committed. He was later traced and arrested.
Similarly, a three-year-old girl was raped by a 14-year- old boy, Amos Ishiyaku, in an uncompleted building at Sabon Tasha area, a suburb of Kaduna. The teenager reportedly lured the innocent girl to a notorious crime haven around 6.pm. There, he forced his way into her. The poor girl's screams attracted neighbours and passers-by, who came to her rescue. Unfortunately, she passed out before she was rushed to the hospital.
In another development, 65-year-old Isiaku Bonat lured a nine-year-old girl with money to a secluded place and forcefully raped her. It took the persuasion of the girl's neighbours for her to divulge the evil act that perpetrated on her by the mindless rapist.
At Kakuri, Kaduna State, a 15-year-old boy, Sunday Godwin, lured a two-year-old girl who was fond of playing with him to a secluded place and raped her.
Ruled by the devil, a 29 -year- old man who visited his married Aunt and was received with open arms, instead turned round to rape his nine -year- old niece, leaving her bloodied. And to cover up his crime, the evil doer forced the girl to keep mum. In return, he schemed up a pacifist strategy by taking her to a popular snack shop the next day.
At Paragai village in Albasu Local Government Area of Kano State, four dirty old men were accused of raping an under-aged girl. The men took their turns on her on different occasions as she hawked a drink known as ‘kunu'. Alhaji Safianu Adamu, 40, Alhaji Babana Shehu, 35, Alhaji Garba Basha,60, and Alhaji Babana Buzu,42, were the sadists.
Shockingly, a 25-year-old man, Shock Musa, a graduate of Kaduna State University descended so low as to rape a five -year -old girl twice, claiming that he was under the influence of alcohol. The little girl was always fond of playing with him. So, on that fateful day, he enticed her with biscuits to his room and had carnal knowledge of her.
Even for 70-year-old grandpa, having unlawful sex is still fashionable, least of all with a one-year old tot, his granddaughter for that matter. This is the case that police in Rigasa, Kaduna State, are yet to unravel.
SOUTH WEST
At Oke Offa Atipe, Agugu, Ibadan, Oyo State, an eleven-year-old girl, Jelilat Suleiman, was gang-raped by five teenagers. The poor girl was lured to a graveyard by one of the boys under the pretence buying the moin-moin she was hawking. She disclosed that the boys have been making some sexual advances at her but she had ignored them.
The rapists include: Akintayo Yussuf, 14, Muritala Wahab, 12, Ibrahim Adegboola, 12, Seun Owoseni, 12 and Taye Saka, 12.
Observers are worried that twelve-year-olds could be so pre-occupied with sex as to want to have it by all means.
Also, observers are still wandering why an aged man with the consent of his wife raped a12-year-old girl. This was the case of embattled Uche Aziera who was raped and impregnated by her guardian at Agege, Lagos. Uche came to Lagos in company of her aunt to raise money to help support her family in the village. Her aunt later took her to a friend where she was maltreated, tortured and traumatized. She hawked pure water in the streets to help fend for her family. Instead of applauding her efforts, her madam and husband conspired and used her as a sex toy.
One Nkemjika, a spare parts seller at Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, raped a two-and half-year old daughter of his neighbour. The little girl was fond of playing with him. So it was easy for him to lure her into his room and force his way into her private part.
Another man, Tunde Bade was also found guilty of raping a 12-year-old daughter of his neighbour, Shitta Rashidat. He claimed he committed the evil act to help his wife conceive.
Rashidat on her part confessed that Tunde has been pestering her to have an affair with him but she turned it down. On that fateful day, he sent her to help him buy some things and directed her where to bring it. Unknown to her, danger was lurking. As Rashidat brought the wares to him, Tunde pounced on her and raped her.
SOUTH EAST
Judicial officers are supposed to protect the law and prosecute law-breakers, but the same cannot be said of a Judge at Akwa, Anambra State who drugged and raped his 15-year-old daughter and placed her on oath with the bible never to reveal his abominable act.
The judge refused to own up to his crime. Another father in Enugu State, Richard Odo savagely raped his 12-year-old daughter. Sometimes used as a political weapon, a councillorship candidate of the Action Congress (AC) in Uruan Local Government of Akwa-Ibom State, Mrs. Nkoyo Edet Bassey reported how she was raped by two men as she was on her way to collect electoral materials.
According to Nkoyo, her abduction and rape was not only masterminded but also organized by her political opponents. According to her account, she was driven to an unknown place, chained, robbed and raped.
