Alake wades into Ogun political crisis

The solution to the face-off, between the executive and the legislature in Ogun State, appears to be in sight as the paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo on Tuesday in Abeokuta, waded into the political impasse saying, 'the crisis will soon be resolved amicably."

Oba Gbadebo spoke with the press shortly after he had a crucial meeting with members of the state House of Assembly at his palace.
According to the Alake, 'Ogun State is known for peace among the comity of states in the federation. The recent situation should not be allowed to bring the state into anarchy and confusion."

He spoke just as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Chief Sule Onabiyi, denied allegation by the Chief of Staff (COS), Chief Abayomi Majekodunmi, that he collected and distributed 200 vehicles (Jeep) from the Minister of Mine and Steel Development, Chief Sarafa Tunji Isola, to help the gubernatorial ambition of the minister.

The monarch told journalists that he charged the lawmakers to always have the interest of the people and the state at heart instead of allowing crisis to drive away investors from the state.
His words: 'The legislators were with me this morning and by the grace of God, there will be peace in the state. The state has always been acclaimed as most peaceful state in the country and by the grace of God it will not change.

'We are working on it. My advice is that everybody should just stay cool. They should put the interest of the state uppermost in their minds."
Chief Onabiyi described as unfounded the allegation by Governor Daniel's (COS), even though he admitted that he assisted the minister to give out a Jeep to the Special Adviser to the governor on Political Matters, Alhaji Niyi Adegbenro.

The PDP elder also assured that Governor Daniel would complete his tenure saying, 'nobody can impeach the governor. They will not even try it. Look, since the creation of Ogun State, no governor has done what he has done in transforming Abeokuta, Ijebu side and Yewa. I'm not taking away the credits of Chief Olabisi Onabanjo and Chief Olusegun Osoba; they tried their best. Daniel has done a lot for the state. Don't you know that if that happens, the lawmakers will also have problems?" he concluded.
