How Alade Aromire Died


Muyideen Alade Aromire died as a result of a serious injury he sustained when his Nissan Pathfinder vehicle with registration number BY 958 FST somersaulted.

Investigations revealed that Aromire was coming from the construction site of his house at Magboro area of Lagos State, in company of one of his aides, Baba Oyo, when the incident occurred.

P.M.News learnt that the accident occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway near the three statues of masquerades (Ere Metta).

An eye witness told P.M.News that the deceased was trying to avoid a staionary truck and another pick-up van carrying water melon when the accident occurred.

He was said to have stopped the car abruptly and in the process, the car somersaulted three times.

P.M.News gathered that Aromire was rescued by two persons who first took him to the premises of LTV, Ikeja, where some of his colleagues rushed him to Duro Soleye Hospital, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, where he was confirmed dead by Dr. Sanyaolu.

Sources said the doctor tried his best to save the deceased but it was just too late.

After the case was incidented at the Alausa Police Station, the remains of Aromire was taken away from Duro Soleye Hospital in a white motor hearse with registration number AJ 802 FFF belonging to Omega Funeral, owned by the Bemil Group to the company's mortuary at about 2. 28 a.m. on Saturday.

P.M.News can authoritatively reveal that Aromire's body is intact, contrary to the speculation that it was dismembered following the impact of the crash.

Meanwhile, the burial committee led by the former governor of Lagos State ANTP Rammy Shitta, after consulting with the family of the deceased, has fixed July 17 and 18 for candlelight and burial.

Aromire, 45, was one of the pioneers of the Nigerian Yoruba home video.

He was the chairman, Yotomi Television and Yotomi Golden Estate.

He had released over 200 films before his death.

At the time of going to press, at least 1,000 sympathisers had signed the condolence register.

Some of them are Yetunde Wunmi, Fatai Rolling Dollar, Queen Salawa Abeni, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and Bose Olubo
