The crisis in the Ogun State House of Assembly deepened yesterday as the Speaker, Mr. Samson Tunji Egbetokun alleged that the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Abayomi Majekodunmi invaded his official quarters with gunmen who attempted to kill him.Already, the State Security Service (SSS) has arrested the Chief of Staff and eight others, confiscating three rifles from them.
The crisis in the Ogun State House of Assembly deepened yesterday as the Speaker, Mr. Samson Tunji Egbetokun alleged that the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Abayomi Majekodunmi invaded his official quarters with gunmen who attempted to kill him.Already, the State Security Service (SSS) has arrested the Chief of Staff and eight others, confiscating three rifles from them.
In a swift reaction, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Daniel, Mr. Segun Sowunmi quoted Governor Gbenga Daniel as saying that the matter is being investigated.
His words: "I state categorically that the Executive Governor of Ogun State Otunba Gbenga Daniel is totally for emphasis totally unaware of this development. This is a peace loving administration and the government will leave no stone unturned to investigate and deal with the matter decisively."
Mr. Egbetokun alleged that the Chief of Staff came to his quarters with some people who were armed in surreptitious manner with the intention to kill him.
