Niger-Delta: ANPP calls on FG to take action on militants attacks

All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) has called on the Federal Government to immediately move into action to quell the ugly incidences of militants' bombardments and aggressive attacks and kidnaps within the Niger-Delta region.

All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) has called on the Federal Government to immediately move into action to quell the ugly incidences of militants' bombardments and aggressive attacks and kidnaps within the Niger-Delta region.

The ANPP, which expressed displeasure and disappointment at the rate the militants have so far carried out incessant bombardments, aggressive attacks and kidnaps within the oil region, said that the development clearly showed a collapse of security of lives and property.
The party in a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Emma Eneukwu noted that the development is a clear indication of economic breakdown, which has its consequential effects on the masses.

'The militants attacked, bombed and destroyed Bonga Offshore Oil Fields belonging to Shell Petroleum and also attacked Escravos Abileye - Olero Flow lines belonging to Chevron, an American firm and also kidnapped an oil worker. The two attacked oil areas produce more than 320,000 barrels per day and consequent upon these attacks, they have shut down their respective stations because of insecurity," Eneukwu said.

He called on the Federal Government to equally swing into action by dialoguing with the principal stakeholders in the Niger-Delta crisis as well as ensuring a judicial probe of the incidence.
'The action is too devastating that some individuals must be benefiting from it thereby masterminding the attacks. The need for the Federal Government to probe this action jointly by accommodating the principal stakeholders and especially the youths who are being used to carry out these attacks is very necessary and advisable," Eneukwu said.

The party noted that several millions of dollars are lost daily as a result of the incidence and called on the Federal Government to embark on a tacit investigation into the matter as a way of going down to fish-out the master-minders of the nefarious act.

The party also noted that at the present moment when the economy of the nation is struggling to resurrect from death, it was opposed to any act by any individual no matter how highly placed, who used the militants to jeopardize the efforts of the federal government in rebuilding the de-stabilized economy of the nation.
