'We are required to fight crimes of financial malfeasance and other related offences as contained in EFCC and Money Laundering Acts 2004. The Federal Government expects us to remove completely, menace of these crimes from our society," she stated.

She noted that based on the enormity of the task of the commission, it calls for total dedication and commitment of the staff as she would spare nobody who is found wanting. 'I will hold individuals responsible for any failure. It is no longer business as usual. Excellence will be rewarded and mediocrity will not be tolerated. The commission expects diligent performance and greater efforts from you in the service to your country. This is a great challenge. A statement signed by the EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, Femi Babafemi, quoted Waziri as saying that staff must brace up for the challenges ahead by subjecting themselves to trainings and learning.

'We must cultivate the culture of continuous learning and improving on the job. We all have a vital role to play in the success of our assignment and must, as a result acquire good knowledge for a successful result," she said.

The EFCC boss who sought the co-operation of the staff called for their support and team work for the commission to achieve its mandate.
'We must have broad outlook and be patriotic, working together for the benefit of our country. All of us will be judged by the totality of our performance," she said.

She warned that the commission would not tolerance indiscipline, disloyalty, lack of patriotism and abuse of authority. 'Abuse of authority includes torture, brutality, without regard to intent, motive or malice that tends to injure, insult or threat to self-image of accused persons in custody.
