Unknown to many, late Chief Lamidi Adedibu spent a few hours in Lagos yesterday before he finally gave up the ghost.

P.M.News authoritatively gathered that Chief Adedibu was at the Reddington Hospital, Lagos for medical check up.

He came to the hospital in the morning with some of his aides including Alhaji Azeem Gbolarumi and his son, Akeem Adedibu. He was said to have spent a few hours at the hospital before he was released.

According to Alhaji Gbolarumi, they were going to Ibadan when Adedibu decided to visit the Immigration Office to fill a form for the renewal of his passport for a planned foreign trip.

Adedibu was said to have collapsed while filling the form and was immediately rushed into the car for medical attention at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

Sources at UCH said Adedibu was brought in dead and that there was nothing doctors could do to revive him.

Gbolarumi and Adedibu's son, Akeem, who were present when the doctors confirmed Adedibu's death were said to have made frantic calls to Governor Adebayo Alao Akala in France and another Adedibu's son in Abuja, senator Kamurudeen Adedibu.

Akala, it was learnt, cut short his stay in France and came back to the country yesterday.
