A top car dealer in Lagos has openly accused his wife of flirting around and infidelity. The man, Ahmed Arigi Jones told Sunday Sun that his wife (names withheld by us), a Lieutenant in the Nigerian army is now a common slut of the military hierarchy. 'My grouse with my wife is over the illicit affairs she enters into with her fellow military officers both in the Infantry, Navy and Air Force," he said in an emotion laden voice.
To further rub it in, the 50-year-old Delta State born car dealer alleged that a Garrison Brigade Commander (names also withheld) not only slept with his wife but bought her a refrigerator, colour TV and rug carpet. The Garrison Commander, according to Ahmed, gives his wife N5, 000 weekly stipend through his driver, Kabiri.
Amorous links
Ahmed brandished text messages to prove his wife's amorous dealings with other men. One was from his wife to her Garrison Commander lover: 'Darlyn, you are a million to me as I have not seen a man like you as you walk into my life. Remember my fridge."
Another was from a certain Prince to Ahmed's wife: 'Love ones are like violins, the music may stop now and then. But the strings remain attached for, weda in touch or not. Thinking of you always..."
Illicit affairs
Ahmed told Sunday Sun that his wife was devoted until she was posted from Nigerian Army Medical Corp, Bonny Camp, Victoria Island, Lagos, to Port Harcourt. 'There, she started fraternizing with men up and down," Ahmed recalled with bitterness.
Caught pants down
Citing one of Mary's escapades, Ahmed said: 'On 29th of April, 2008, at exactly 11 p.m, I caught her making love with a Naval Officer, Commander (names also withheld) right in our apartment at NN Pathfinder, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt."
He fought and even exchanged blows with the man. Out of anger, the enranged husband ran out of the apartment and damaged the randy lover boy's Peugeot 307 car. His wife, shockingly, took sides with her lover and got Ahmed detained for two days.
Recalling yet another incident, Ahmed told Sunday Sun that Mary once gave him N100, 000 cash and refused to disclose the source of the money. But Ahmed said he later found out that the money was given to her by one of her numerous lovers, a Captain in the Finance department of the 2nd Brigade. Ahmed further alleged that his wife is currently dating a captain from Bayelsa State. 'My wife finds it absolutely difficult to stick to one man," he said.
Meeting wife
Before Ahmed met his wife in 1998, she had a baby girl for a retired Naval Officer. But her carefree ways lured Ahmed to propose and marry her. The nuptial knot was tied in 2000 with a traditional marriage at Ogotun, in South West, Ekiti State, the lady's hometown. Life with the couple was lovey-dovey. The following year - 2001 - she had a baby boy, whom they named Timileyin.
Then she was only a Lance Corporal. Ahmed said he wanted the court and church wedding done at once but she told him to wait until she became an officer.
'First, I wasn't disturbed and I gave in. We did all the traditional rites and introduction blessing," he said.
Complain to parents
'Her father is dead now. I have taken the matter to her mother and she was so disappointed and bitter over it all. And her elder sister was sorry. In her view, she feels the lady's behavior may after all, not be ordinary and believes she needs prayers. However, since she started dating these officers, reaching her on phone is very difficult because she chooses calls to pick.
Rejection and threat to life
'All attempts to get her to talk over the issue and possibly find a way of resolving it have proved abortive. Rather, she sent me a text, saying: 'Don't attempt to come to my place until you are ready to come & pack your belonging. Get my message from Aluko (May '08). And then, another text massage which reads: 'Ahmed, its over btw us, d game is up; can't you sense it? From Aluko. (May 08).
Ahmed complained: 'She is in custody of our son and has deprived me access to him because she is using all military might at her disposal against me. Now she has threatened to blackmail me by listing my name as a militant. She also threatened to use all military powers at her disposal to deal with me or even kill me. She sent the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Port Harcourt and Warri to trail me, even here in Lagos. A few days ago, she sent some military men to arrest two of my brothers- Mr. Benson Ofoluwa and Efe Ofoluwa in Warri.
Forgery
'In 2005, she was posted to Abuja. And on December 2nd 2006, she was commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant. She forged most of the documents she used in attaining her now steady rise in the Army. Most painful to me of all is her age declaration in which she put my name as her uncle. All these documents she forged in Abuja and I discovered it this year. I have copies of these documents. When I asked why she forged those documents, her reply was, ' My husband, your wife is an officer now. So forget about it."
'Presently, she claims to be single. But in the form she completed at the commission and in her Personal Evaluation Officer's Record, she stated married. All these can be traced at the Nigeria Military Secretary A, Army HQ. at Bonny Camp. And to her Corp Commander at Medical HQ. Bori Camp. She equally claims and forged the certificate, with which she got commissioned into the Army, to have been born in 1970, No! She was born May 17, 1968. I am calling on the Nigeria Army Intelligence to investigate this woman, a fraud."
Threat
'I'm afraid for my life and that of my family. We are now in danger. My adulterous wife has become a threat to us. So, I am calling on the Nigerian Armed Forces, the National Assembly and the Federal Government to come to my rescue. I appeal to the Nigeria Army Military Intelligence to safeguard my life by calling her to order and her associate male officers. She has vowed to deal with me to the last. According to her, either she would blackmail me as a militant because I am from the Niger Delta or that just a single bullet would waste me.
'I remember in 1998, she had a baby girl for a Naval Officer, also, she petitioned this man to Force CID and the man was detained for sometime. Later on, she wrote other petitions before the man retired," Ahmed alleged.
Woman flares up
Contacted on telephone, for her own side of the story, the woman at the center of the scandal responded thus: 'Well, I don't have anything to say to that. I am not interested."
But prodded further, she screamed at Sunday Sun reporter: ‘That is my private life and I don't want anybody to interfere in it. I am not interested in him, period!"
Called a second time, she literally roared: 'Listen, I hope you know you are dealing with a military officer. If you publish anything in my name, I will sue your newspaper. Do you hear me?"
