The Acting Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon Werinpre Seiabarugu, has dissolved the state executive council. Seiabarugu, who dissolved the executive council through a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Preye Wariowei, said the development is with immediate effect.

Affected is the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. (Mrs) Bolere Ketebu- Nwokaefor, commissioners, special advisers and senior special assistants.
The statement reads in part: 'The State Acting Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Werinpre Seiabarugu, has dissolved the state executive council.
'The dissolution which affects the Secretary to the State Government, all honourable commissioners, special advisers and senior special assistants is with immediate effect.
'It does not, however, affect the Chief of Staff, Government House. The Acting Governor wishes them well in their future endeavours."
Daily Sun had exclusively reported on Monday that the governor-elect, Chief Timipre Sylva has concluded plans to sack the entire cabinet because of his realization that he delegated many things to them, while he concentrated on improving the infrastructural base of the state.
He, however, regretted as most of them made him to be involved in unnecessary bickering with other stakeholders, which pitted him against some powerful interests in the state.
The undoing of some of the cabinet members, who were given the responsibility of ensuing that Sylva remains governor, was the nullification of the April 14 election.
Sylva, who is said to be making arrangements to put to put together a new executive council made up of some old and new members, approved the dissolution.
Meanwhile Sylva, during a courtesy visit by the disabled associations in the state, disclosed that he is ready to accommodate other members of opposition parties and also appoint into positions of authority disabled persons in the state.
