Daar Communications, operators of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower 100.5 FM Radio Station, yesterday in Abuja, presented a Fidelity Bank Cheque of N250million to the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) as instalmental payment for the broadcast right of matches that involve the national teams.

Presenting the cheque to NFA Chairman, Sani Abdulahi Lulu, Chairman of Daar Communication, Raymond Dokpesi, expressed hope that the partnership would yield fruits, which would be beneficial to Nigerian Football.
He also said that with the wide network coverage of his outfit, Nigerian football would be beamed to viewers across the world and pledged to service the remaining part of the deal as at when due.
'We are grateful to the board of the NFA for giving us the opportunity to be a part of the development process in Nigerian football.
This moment is historic to both of us because the government of the day encourages private sector partnership in national development.
'We are committed to this contract and we assure you that we will not fail on our part of the bargain."
Reacting to the comments by Dokpesi, Lulu said that it was the beginning of good things for Nigerian football and called on other corporate organizations to come and identify with the new spirit in the football house.
'This is a partnership that we hope to use to expose our activities to the rest of the world and we will take it seriously. No nation makes progress in football without this kind of partnership and I want to say that it came at the right time."
The broadcast right deal, which runs for four years, will see Daar Communication parting with the sum of N1 billion to the country's football authorities.
DAAR Communications are to pay N250 million yearly for the broadcast of matches that involve all the national teams.
