Former acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde is among 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police redeployed by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro yesterday.
Former acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde is among 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police redeployed by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro yesterday.
Lamorde was last week removed as acting chairman of the commission when President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua appointed retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Farida Waziri, as the new chief executive of EFCC.
Until he was appointed acting chairman of EFCC, Lamorde was the Director of Operations of the commission when Nuhu Ribadu held sway as chairman.
A statement, released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Agberebi Egbuson Akpoebi, yesterday said the IGP ordered the redeployment of the 10 ACPs to various posts and commands.
The redeployment order which takes immediate effect saw Lamorde moving to Bauchi State as Area Commander, Ningi Police Command.
Others affected include ACP Johnson Ogunsakin, now Director of Operations, EFCC; ACP Soponye Leroy Wakama, Director of Operations ICPC, Undie J. Abi, ACP CID, Akwa Ibom State Command, ACP Michael Ogbodu, Area Commander, Mushin, Lagos; Istifanus Shettima, ACP Administration, Benue Command; ACP Isiaku Alhaji Bawawu, Area Commander Hadejia, Jigawa; ACP R. O. I. Akintunde, Area Commander, Afikpo, Ebonyi.
Also affected are ACP Lawrence A. Osita, Area Commander, Onitsha, Anambra and Acting ACP Mukan Gobum Joseph Assistant Commissioner, CID Airport.
