Wife of the ex-Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori, was on Monday granted bail with stiff condition by a London Magistrate Court.
The former Delta first lady was arraigned on Monday by the London Metropolitan Police over alleged money laundering activities.
Granting the bail, the Westminster Magistrate ordered the accused to deposit a sum of f250,000 or equivalent property before she could walk home free.
As a result of the stringent condition attached to the bail, Mrs Ibori could not regain her freedom on Tuesday and remained in custody pending the time the stipulated condition would be met.
Reacting to the development in a statement, signed by the Chief Media Assistant to Chief Ibori, Tony Elueminor, the former governor expressed sadness and anger as other earlier mentioned in the same charge were given simple bail condition.
Miffed by the court ruling, Chief Ibori is comtemplating appealing the court's ruling to seek variation of the bail condition.
Meanwhile, Chief Ibori has expressed confidence that at the end, his wife would be given clean bill of health by the London court because, according to him, she was never involved in any criminal activities to warrant his present travail.
