Why Oseni will never regain her seat

Facts emerged yesterday that the impeached Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Titi Oseni, would never regain her seat.
Oseni lost her exalted position last Thursday after 22 of the 26 member House unanimously impeached her.

This fact came after the State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, met with the 26- member House at his Asoludero Court, Sagamu in the early hours of yesterday.
Although it was a private meeting, sources close to the magnificent building revealed to Daily Sun that the possibility of reversing the impeachment of the Speaker and her Deputy was extensively discussed but the G-22 insisted that the former Speaker had gone for good.

The Speaker was quoted as saying that the new leadership of the House had nothing against both the leadership of (PDP) and the Executive, but we have taken a decision that's best for the state,
The 20 local government chairmen in the state had also met on the development, which has been talk of the town since it jolted the political landscape of the state.
The embattled Speaker was in Abuja,; the Federal Capital Territory for an official assignment when she was impeached in what became the first time in the political history of the state created over 32 years ago.

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hierarchy had said the House never sat on the day of the impeachment, but the recorded tape of the day's proceedings, which was shown on the state television (GTV) and the NTA 12 put paid to such a speculation.
The new Speaker, Hon. Tunji Egbetokun and his deputy, Hon. Remi Hassan, were seen being inaugurated by the Clerk of the House.

Meanwhile, General Ibrahim Babangida, former military president had a private visit to the Sagamu private residence of Governor Daniel where both met for several minutes even though the agenda of the meeting was unknown.

Earlier before his arrival, Daniel was in a closed-door meeting with the 26-member House. In attendance were the Awujale of Ijebu-land, Oba Sikiru Adetona, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Michael Sonariwo, the paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo and the Olu-Adele of Yewa, Chief Jasper Oyekan.
