Gunmen kill brother to Chime's aide

The Special Assistant to Enugu State governor on Public Enlightenment and Information, Mr. Paul Nnajiofor's elder brother, Mr. Christian Nnajiofor, has been killed by unknown gunmen.

The Special Assistant to Enugu State governor on Public Enlightenment and Information, Mr. Paul Nnajiofor's elder brother, Mr. Christian Nnajiofor, has been killed by unknown gunmen.
According to the governor's aide, the killing, penultimate weekend of his elder brother, was the handiwork of assassins who are now out to unleash terror in the state.

Nnajiofor in a statement said the killing of his brother was purely an assassination case, insisting "the manner with which the killers operated indicate that it is a well thought out plan by the unknown gunmen."

He said his brother, a commercial bus driver, was trailed by the gunmen, numbering about six, as he was returning from their home town, Mbulu Owo Autonomous Community, to the mainland area of Enugu State where they double crossed him, dragging him down from his J5 bus and shooting him in the head.
He described the murder of his brother as terrible, painful, devastating and unforgivable.

He, therefore, urged the police to ensure that those behind the killing are brought to book.
The governor's aide assured Governor Sullivan Chime and the people of Enugu State that the incident would not derail or affect his commitment to continue to serve the state.
He said he was unruffled and undeterred in ensuring that Governor Chime realizes his dream of a new Enugu State.

Meanwhile, the Emene Divisional Police headquarters has commenced investigation into the killing, promising to apprehend the perpetrators.
The Divisional Police Officer of the station, CSP Peter Mmuo, assured that they would work hard to see that the killers of Nnajiofor are unmasked and brought to book.
