Only few Nigerians are corrupt – Pastor William Kumuyi

Despite the hue and cry about deep-seated corruption in Nigeria, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has said that only a few Nigerians are caught by the corruption web.

Despite the hue and cry about deep-seated corruption in Nigeria, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has said that only a few Nigerians are caught by the corruption web.

Kumuyi made the remark on Wednesday shortly on arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport for a five-day crusade in the Rivers State capital.

The Mathematician-turned preacher pointed out that it was the few corrupt Nigerians who were being over- publicised by the media that had given the whole world the erroneous impression that all Nigerians were corrupt.

In spite of the level of corruption in the country, the man of God has called on Nigerians to make a deliberate effort to shun acts that were not in the interest of the country and fellow Nigerians.

Kumuyi said, “If all Nigerians turn to God and forsake those things that are inimical to the growth and development of Nigeria, then the issue of corruption will be a thing of the past.

“Corruption will have no place in the nation’s scheme of things the moment everyone does what is expected of him and bases his actions on the word of God.”

He explained that he was taking his crusade entitled “Great Revival Crusade for Great Possibilities”, to Port Harcourt for the first time so as to turn the city to God.

Before the meeting later in the evening at the University of Science and Technology in Port Harcourt, Kumuyi met with the state Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, and lauded his administration for its sustained contribution to the church.

The crusade, which will be holding at the RUST playground every evening, will end on Sunday.
