Facts have emerged on why the eleven lawmakers of the Action Congress (AC) in the Osun State House of Assembly may not refund the N55 million received from the government for their constituency projects.
The leadership of AC in the state had Thursday ordered the lawmakers to each return the N5 million paid into their account for their constituency projects by the government.
Saturday Sun learnt that all the meetings summoned by the party leadership to deliberate on the issue including the one held in Ondo state ended in a deadlock.
According to the source, the AC lawmakers were first summoned to a meeting on Tuesday, April 22 and were asked to return the money but were not ready, saying they have made commitment to their people to use the fund for projects.
One of the reasons given by the lawmakers no to refund the money, the source further disclosed, was that each member of the Assembly had taken a loan from the bank when their salaries were not paid for three months.
