The British government would start investing in the northern part of the country, according to the country's new High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Richard Gozney.
Gozney said British investment has remained in the South-South geo-political zone of the country until recently mainly because of the presence of oil. He said he had his government's authority to announce that there would soon be a change of policy as plans have been completed to start investing in northern Nigeria with Abuja as the gateway.
The new envoy, who paid a visit to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, said the British High Commission, which was one of the few foreign missions to relocate from Lagos to Abuja at a Federal Government directive, had started issuing visas at the Abuja office.
