Group warns Oshiomhole against inciting students

An Afenmai Youths organization, the Kukuruku Forum, has called on the governorship candidate of Action Congress (AC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to refrain from inciting students in the state to take to the streets in solidarity with him over the tribunal judgment.

An Afenmai Youths organization, the Kukuruku Forum, has called on the governorship candidate of Action Congress (AC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to refrain from inciting students in the state to take to the streets in solidarity with him over the tribunal judgment.

In a press statement, signed by Dr. Felix Imoudu and Mr. Inu Ohifeme, president and secretary respectively and made available to Daily Sun yesterday, the forum alleged that Comrade Oshiomhole and his party have, in the past few weeks, been giving financial inducement to students of the University of Benin, Auchi Polytechnic and College of Education, Ekiadolor, in a bid to make them embark on a procession round the streets of Benin city and other major towns in the state.

It described the action, of the former labour leader, as capable of setting the state on fire if supporters of the other parties equally take to the streets to express solidarity with Governor Oserheimen Osunbor, who, the forum stressed, had handled the matter with maturity and high sense of discipline.

The Kukuruku Forum reminded AC candidate that he is no longer a labour activist and wondered why somebody of Oshiomhole's calibre should be encouraging violence by students when responsible Nigerians are busy supporting the various governments at the state and federal levels to fight cultism and related vices on campus.

The forum wondered what kind of Governor Oshiomhole is aspiring to be going by his recent actions and public utterances and advised him to allow the virtues of an Afenmai man show in him, stressing that the governorship of a state is not a do-or-die affair as God will, in His time, give Afenmai people the governor they deserve.
