Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has appealed to Nigerians to demonstrate a mark of patriotism by subscribing to the public offer of the Daar Communication, saying such offer is not for profit but a mark of patriotism.
Speaking when the Board of Directors of Daar Communication, led by Dr. Tom Adaba, paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Yuguda stated that such subscription would go a long way to boost the company's quest to expand their broadcast network and to improve on their existing facilities and efficiency.
According to Yuguda, the western world has a negative perspective of the country but noted that with Daar signal reaching all over the world, it stands a better chance to correct the wrong perception about the country.
The governor assured the Daar Communication that the state government would subscribe to the shares in order to encourage them for the excellent work they are doing in projecting the positive image of the continent to the outside world.
Governor Yuguda donated a five bedroom apartment to them to enable them start operation in Bauchi, assuring that that he was prepared to do away with DSTV subscription, which caused him money to maintain.
The governor urged Nigerians to demonstrate a sense of patriotism to patronize indigenous companies and organizations in order to encourage them, adding that with the expansion of Daar communication broadcast network, he was confident that the South African company would be pushed out of the market competition.
Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation and deputy chairman of Daar Communication, Dr. Adaba, had commended the performance of Mallam Yuguda's administration.
He noted that he was not surprised that within few months of his leadership, Bauchi is emerging a leading state in the North East. He commended the offer of the five bedroom flat donated to the company to commence operation, assuring that within few weeks, the company would move their equipment to commence operation.
Adaba assured the government and people of Bauchi that Daar Communication would give adequate publicity to the programmes and policies of the state government as well feedback to the government.
