RANDY DADDY:Forty-five year old man impregnates daughter

A 45-year-old man is now in desperate search of a new accommodation. He has just one week to do that or else, he would be thrown into the streets.

A 45-year-old man is now in desperate search of a new accommodation. He has just one week to do that or else, he would be thrown into the streets. The Ajegunle building which has served him as home for many years can no longer accept him as tenant. His offence? He took his randiness to incestuous dimension.

So, Ajegunle, the sprawling Lagos ghetto is now agog with another kind of news, as residents are astounded as to why the man, identified as Alex John (surname withheld), resident of Adeyemi Street, near Okoya impregnated his own daughter.

The incident was the outcome of an unholy relationship, said to have gone on for almost a whole year, with the girl, identified as Julie, a Senior Secondary Student, without the knowledge of his wife, a mother of three other kids.
The four months pregnancy was becoming noticeable, causing the whole family a lot of embarrassment. But the whole incident blew open last week when the girl told one Chief Onyemerikwe that she missed her period.
Based on the disclosure, it dawned on her father that her daughter must be pregnant for him.

The shocking disclosure
Accordingly, he conspired with the girl that she should claim her boyfriend was responsible for it. When she agreed, she visited the boyfriend, identified as Emma, to obtain money to terminate the pregnancy.
But she met a brick-wall in the boyfriend who said that all the sexual intercourse between them was carried out with condom, thereby ruling out the possibility pregnancy. He however persuaded with the girl to confess if she had been having an affair with somebody else.

Emma promised to give her money for the abortion if she revealed the name of the person. At this, she now told the man that her father was responsible for the pregnancy. Worried by the disclosure, he narrated the story to his aunt who lived in the same compound with the girl. The aunt, in turn, called three other women to hear the story. It was at this stage that one of the woman remembered that a girl had written an anonymous prayer request the previous week pleading for divine forgiveness for sin of sleeping with her father.

The pastor of the church, Liberation World Ministry, had announced that the maker of the nameless written request should see him in private. This announcement confirmed the suspicions of co-tenants that the girl must have been the one, since they have been seeing her and her father in some questionable corners.

Conspiracy, abortion and mother's ominous silence
To avoid the scandal blowing open any further than it had already done, the girl resolved penultimate Thursday to make arrangement to abort the pregnancy. She confided in a woman and sought her assistance to procure an abortion, having disclosed who was responsible.

The confidant decided to inform the girl's mother, who allegedly failed to raise an eye brow, but decided to stay cool, not only to protect her marriage but also because she was allegedly in the know already.
But last Saturday the father allegedly took her to an unknown hospital where she aborted the pregnancy, caretaker of the house, Mr. Oritstimeyin Emiko, told our reporters.

He called all tenants to a meeting where it was decided that the man was a danger to other kids and housewives. Though the suspect, was invited to the meeting he allegedly refused to come initially.

Admits of guilt
At the meeting held in his house, the suspect was interrogated. He confessed his responsibility for the pregnancy. "It is difficult for me to say. But I must confess that I impregnated my daughter. I had to terminate the pregnancy to cover the shame and for the fact that the girl is writing her final examination", the landlord quoted him as saying.

Based on the disclosure, the other tenants insisted he should be forced out of the house immediately. They however failed to inform the police at the Ajegunle Division.
Accordingly, the caretaker gave her a month's quit notice, which was vehemently opposed by other tenants who claimed neither their wives nor daughters are safe in the house with the man around. The notice was therefore reduced to a week.
