There was pandemonium at the weekend as armed robbers on motorcycles gunned down three persons. The six robbers had allegedly arrived the popular Odunade, along Orile-Badagry expressway on three motorbikes and attempted to snatch a jeep from a man and in the process shot sporadically, leading to the death of the vicitms.

The six robbers had allegedly arrived the popular Odunade, along Orile-Badagry expressway on three motorbikes and attempted to snatch a jeep from a man and in the process shot sporadically, leading to the death of the vicitms.
The incident, which occurred at about 12.30 pm was said to have sent people, running for dear lives before policemen from Orile division arrived the scene to engage the robbers in a gun duel.
Though a police source said only one person was shot dead while another was injured by the robbers, passers-by told Daily Sun that three persons were killed.
But for the timely arrival of the policemen, Daily Sun gathered that the hoodlums would have succeeded in the operation.
All efforts to reach the state police spokesman, Mr. Frank Mba, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), on phone to confirm the story proved abortive.
