The marine police station in Bonny Island, Rivers State, was set on fire by unknown gunmen, who attacked the station early Saturday morning.

Also the palace of the traditional ruler of the ancient town, King Edward Dappa-Pepple was attacked same day.
Reports from the home of the nation's liquefied gas project stated that the hoodlums invaded the police station at about 3.00am. Several vehicles parked in the premises were reportedly burnt.
According to reports, dynamites were used during the attack on the police building located at the main jetty in the town.
It was also reported that the same gang attacked the palace of the royal father, before fleeing the town.
The armed men were said to have shot an unidentified man at the jetty as they made their escape.
The victim was said to have survived and currently receiving medical treatment.
When contacted, the Rivers State police PRO, Mrs. Ireju Barasua (DSP) confirmed the incident.
Meanwhile, the two toddlers kidnapped in Port Harcourt. Chimaroke and Kelechi Okocha have been released. Their captors dropped them at Comprehensive High School, Borokiri, from where security operatives picked them at about 6.30am Saturday and handed them over their parents.
It was not clear whether ransom was paid before their release.
