Policemen attached to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja have arrested a young man who disguises as a beautiful girl to bilk unsuspecting men of all they are worth.
The suspect, 22-year-old Uche Nkechi Ndubuisi from Ubakala in Umuahia Local Government Area of Abia State was nabbed Friday afternoon at about 4.30pm when he was spotted by eagle-eyed security operatives.
'She" was armed with a bag containing different types of makeup and an album containing super-imposed pictures of super stars and 'her."
Ndubuisi wore a lycra blouse and a long skirt. 'She also wore about 10 underpants.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the MMIA Police command, DSP Ochuko Imeke, Ndubuisi loitered aimlessly at the departure hall of the MMIA and had to be arrested when he strayed into certain areas he ought not to.
'When we apprehended 'her" for unlawful entry and loitering, we brought him to the station and in our procedure, we had to screen him thoroughly to know what he has on him. It was at that point that we discovered 'she" was actually a man," Imeke explained.
Imeke further stated that the suspect's modus operandi is to hoodwink unsuspecting men, paint a picture of a distressed star, brandish the album where necessary and thus bilk men who fall for the cock and bull story.
What further made his lies sell is his unassuming and sonorous voice which traps men in his web.
When asked what led him into the dubious act, Ndubuisi explained that his agony started when he lost his father about five years ago after the SSCE. 'Things became difficult for us at home and I had to find a way out.
That was how I got into the business. I'm proud to say that I beg men to help me. I don't force them to help. I can easily cook up stories that I was coming from east and was robbed by armed robbers. Most of the men who see me at times help me. They give me money. I don't steal. I was arrested when I went to a hotel in international airport where I got a job for my younger sister. That is the truth even though the world doesn't like it. I've been doing this since 2003", he said.
