The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that apart from the grace of God, forthrightness before Him also promotes longevity.

Adeboye, who spoke during the thanksgiving to mark the 70th birthday of Oba Adedapo Tejuoso in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital on Tuesday also urged Nigerians to always pray for God's wisdom and guidance.

His words: 'You don't need to live long before you start fearing God. Every man must do good things at all times, because everyday we spent on earth is taking us closer and closer to our Creator and our home."

The religious leader who read from the book of Psalm 90 verse 12 also appealed to people irrespective of their age and status to grow wiser when getting old.

Adeboye who spoke in the presence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Alex Ekwueme said: 'Wisdom is so superior to strength. It is a defence that gives life when you are getting old.
You must be wise in doing certain things so that you can live longer". Wisdom is the application of knowledge; it is one thing to have knowledge, but cannot apply it. You must be wise and God-fearing. This is the secret of a long life", he concluded.

Meanwhile the Egba monarch is expected to lead a delegation of the Prison Rehabilitation Mission International (PREMI) to Dubai Prisons next month.
The Director-General of (PREMI), Pastor Kayode Williams who made this disclosure on Monday in Abeokuta said the visit was to facilitate the release and evacuation of hundreds of Nigerians in the Arab country.

The three-day visit according to Williams would also afford Tejuoso to appeal to the Dubai monarch and authorities on the need to grant them the Nigerian prisoners clemency.

Oba Tejuoso, who also visited the Abeokuta Prison as part of activities marking his birthday milestone, urged the inmates to see their predicament as temporary and prayed for their freedom.
His words: 'You may be the prisoners of the Nigerian government, but I know that God the Creator of heaven and earth will not make you a permanent prisoner," he prayed as he admonished them to be God-fearing and be of good behaviour while serving their jail terms.
