Waku to David Mark: I'll expose your dark secrets

Newly elected Vice Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Senator Joseph Waku, has threatened to expose what he calls the 'dark secrets" of Senate President, David Mark.

Newly elected Vice Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Senator Joseph Waku, has threatened to expose what he calls the 'dark secrets" of Senate President, David Mark.

Waku who spoke with Daily Sun on phone from Chicago, USA, yesterday was reacting to Monday's statement in which Mark accused him of suffering from dehydration and hallucination.

The senate president had descended on Waku over an alleged claim by the latter that he was trying to influence the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Makurdi, Benue State, where the election of Mark is being challenged.

Miffed by Mark's attack, Waku stated that he only accused the senate president of trying to frustrate proceedings at the tribunal through unnecessary motions.

According to the ex-senator who incidentally is from the same Benue State as Mark, the senate president has chosen to run away from the real issues by 'hurling insults at me."
His words: 'He is uttering words of an irresponsible leader. He has no culture and tradition. He had better shut up or else I would expose his dark secrets. He should watch what he says about me because if I open my mouth, he won't be able to stand upright.

'I have won three popular elections and none of them has ever been upturned or suffered legitimacy problem like his own now. So, what is he saying? I'm not surprised at his personal attack on me because it's only people like him that will employ such gutter language when empirical issues are being discussed."

A statement signed by Special Adviser to the Senate President on Media and Publicity, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan on Sunday had said 'we would not waste precious time engaging a nebulous character who also suffers from verbal diarrhea because every right thinking Nigerian knows that no petitioner or respondent has influence on his case before the tribunal.

'In our clime, politics is a leveller, otherwise, the likes of Waku is neither a fit nor proper person to be addressed as a senator."
