Oyedepo curses robbers who raided his church

Founder and bishop of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo Sunday hit back at daredevil armed robbers who last Thursday defiled the precincts of his church, killing four policemen and leaving two seriously injured.

Founder and bishop of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo Sunday hit back at daredevil armed robbers who last Thursday defiled the precincts of his church, killing four policemen and leaving two seriously injured.

While admonishing members of his congregation not to get scared at the audacity of the robbers, Oyedepo declared that everyone involved in the attack on the church will be 'cut down."

The heavily armed robbers numbering about 27 had last Thursday stormed the church premises along Sango-Idiroko road, Ota at about 9.55 am, and thereafter took strategic positions in the compound that also houses the Faith Academy, a secondary school, a primary school and the Covenant University.

During the raid, three commercial banks including first and second generation banks were looted of money running into several millions of naira.

But speaking shortly after delivering his Sunday service sermon, Bishop Oyedepo declared that nobody can intimidate the church of God.

He thereafter directed his congregation to pray and invite the wrath of God on the criminals since their actions was not unto God but for their evil selfish reasons.
The faith teaching bishop later admonished his members not to be afraid whenever they come to church, assuring that nobody can harm them.

The robbers had met heavy resistance from police personnel on duty in the church premises. In the ensuing gun duel, four policemen were reportedly killed by the robbers who later bolted away, while two others, a constable and a corporal were seriously injured. The injured policemen were rushed to the General Hospital, Sango Ota for treatment.
