It has become a punishable offence in Anambra State for commercial bus drivers to load/unload along roadside and operate illegal motor parks in the state following a recent innauguration of the Anambra State Road Traffic Control Agency under a special adviser to the Governor on Special Duties and Transport.

The agency has promised hard time to commercial vehicle drivers and okada riders who breaks the new rule.

Head of operation of the agency, Hon Victor Obi told Daily Sun that the state has trained men and women to carry out the job.
Hon. Obi promised that there would be free flow of traffic on all the major highways and urban areas in the state. He said that the work of the agency was not to hijack the duties of the police traffic wardens but to compliment their effort in checking defaulters of road traffic regulation, which he said, had caused road accidents in the past.

On method of operation, Obi promised that the agency would ensure discipline among its workers, saying that they would not go outside the guidelines under which it is set up.

In his comment, the chairman of Nnewi zone of the agency, Chief Patrick Ileka said there was no room for victimization but warned road users to obey traffic laws.
Ileka said the field workers were well supervised but would not hesitate to apply force where necessary.
