Mbu hails Fashola's achievements


Elder statesman and one of Nigeria's foremost politicians, Ambassador Matthew Mbu, on Thursday hailed Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) for the achievements recorded by his administration within the short time he has been in office.

Elder statesman and one of Nigeria's foremost politicians, Ambassador Matthew Mbu, on Thursday hailed Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) for the achievements recorded by his administration within the short time he has been in office.

Ambassador Mbu, who led a delegation of the Executive members of the Nigerian Society of International Law to Lagos House Marina on a courtesy call on the governor, said the society was impressed by what the governor had done so far.

Mbu, who is also President of the society declared: 'We are most impressed by what you have done so far and we want you to continue what you are doing. The transformation of Ikoyi and what have you, and all you are doing in Ikoyi, if nowhere else, are eye-catchers and are there for all to see what you are doing."

He particularly commended the governor for the beautification programme of his administration, saying they are innovations and practical steps to beautify the metropolis and make it one of the most beautiful cities to be proud of anywhere.
Mbu said the main objective of the Society was to study the simulation and advancement of both public and private international law and missions in all its ramifications, saying the society was proud to have the governor as its grand patron.

Responding, Fashola, gave a nod to the hosting of the 37 annual conference of the society by the state government as requested, just as he described governance as the administration of law.
Addressing the executive members, Fashola also agreed to give support to the society in all its programmes, especially as they relate to the administration of law.

The Governor, who stated that the administration of law was his life's passion, commended the society for focusing its attention on the domestic development of international law saying this was necessary in order to protect the rights of people of African descent.
