Polls annulment: I wish Chime well -Nnamani

Barely one week after the election of Enugu State governor, Mr Sullivan Chime, was nullified by the election petitions tribunal, his predecessor in office, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, said that he wished the embattled governor well.

Barely one week after the election of Enugu State governor, Mr Sullivan Chime, was nullified by the election petitions tribunal, his predecessor in office, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, said that he wished the embattled governor well.

In a statement issued on his behalf by his Special Adviser and former Enugu State Commissioner for Information, Mr Igbonekwu Ogazimorah, on Wednesday, Nnamani said he was concerned that the media has tried to create the impression that he and his successor had a feud.

He said that there was no discord between him and Chime as the governor was a product of the political structure he erected in the state.

The statement said: 'Former Governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, has noted with concern the recent political developments in Enugu State.
'Despite persistent statements to the effect that none exists, the media have consistently insisted on manufacturing discord between the former governor and the present Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Sullivan Chime.

'Nnamani hereby re-states, for the number of times that it may matter, that the current governor is a product of the Ebeano political family, within the precinct of the PDP.
'For the avoidance of doubt," Nnamani said further, 'I have no quarrel with His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime, and I wish him well in his political tenure."
