Aregbesola should be law abiding - Osun Govt

Osun State Government has advised Action Congress governorship candidate in the last election, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, to learn to be law abiding in the pursuit of his political activities.

Osun State Government has advised Action Congress governorship candidate in the last election, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, to learn to be law abiding in the pursuit of his political activities.
A statement issued by Mr Lasisi Olagunju, Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor said the government was aware of a press briefing he held on Wednesday in Lagos where he made ominous statements about 'commencing political activities" in Osun state.

The government warned that nobody was above the law and as such Aregbesola should be mindful of every action he took while no one would be allowed to set the state ablaze again.

'The security import of his press briefing is not lost on us. The fact that Aregbesola was putting the public on notice on his new weird mission of 'commencing political activities" in Osun state is enough to suggest that he has very diabolical plans up his sleeves. He does not need a press conference to announce his coming to a state he wanted to govern.

As a matter of fact, all serious politicians the world over never stop politicking and none would cry over the rooftop that he/she wants to play politics. This runaway 'soldier" appears to be the first in history that would contest, lose an election and abandon his supporters only to start making noise again after a year that he would 'commence political activities." The statement said.

The rest of the statement reads: 'Let it be known to Aregbesola that he will be held personally responsible for any breach of the peace in this state as a result of his plan 'to commence campaigning" even without any election in sight. The state has been in peace since April 15, 2007 when he ran back to his base after he was roundly defeated in the polls. The people cherish their peace," the statement said.
' He also said we made attempts to stop his so called 'forensic expert" from getting visa in the UK. We have also said this man is not serious.

We have no cause at all to stop any of his witnesses from coming from any part of the world. We sympathise with him because it is obvious that he is completely frustrated and he appears to have reached a dead end. He now wants to pre-empt the decision of the tribunal. This man has completed the so called 'inspection" of the electoral materials making use of a local lawyer and another man who described himself as a 'public analyst" as his 'forensic experts." These two people are based in Ajegunje Spare parts market in Osogbo. Why is the man so adept at telling lies?

The government advised him again to be coming to witness the trial of his petition at the election petition tribunal in Osogbo instead of making noise in Lagos.
