Flour Mills condoles Asalu's family


Flour Mills Nig. Plc has commiserated with the family of the late Asiwaju Akintunde Asalu, president of Nigerian Shareholders Association (NSA).

Flour Mills Nig. Plc has commiserated with the family of the late Asiwaju Akintunde Asalu, president of Nigerian Shareholders Association (NSA).

A delegation of the company, led by its Managing Director, Chief Emmanuel Ukpibi and Financial Director, Alhaji Y. Olalekun Saliu paid a visit to the deceased family in recognition of the late Chief Asalu's invaluable contributions to the corporate world and the shareholders association. The delegation was received by the deceased's widow, Mrs Olaide Asalu.

The managing director said 'Nigeria's corporate world and shareholders have lost a colossus. Asiwaju Asalu played a pioneering role in creating awareness for shareholders and monitoring their stocks. We shall all surely miss him. May his soul rest in peace."

According to Alhaji Saliu: 'The Nigerian business community has lost a leader, a legend, whose concise and constructive criticisms and invaluable contributions at annual general meetings of publicly quoted companies would be sadly missed."

Chief Ukpabi speaking with the press said that he believed when Asiwaju was alive he trained a lot of his subordinates to be able to carry on from where he left off.
He also stated that they loved the way he led and guarded the interest of shareholders.
Akintunde Asalu was the president of Nigeria Shareholders Solidarity Association, NSSA.

He studied Business Administration at the University of Lagos. He became a major stockholder in 126 companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. He later set up the NSSA to safeguard the interest of stockholders. Asalu's great interest in stock made him director of many companies.
