A serving military officer including his wife and three children were killed in a fatal motor accident along the busy Warri-Sapele highway during the yuletide celebration.
A serving military officer including his wife and three children were killed in a fatal motor accident along the busy Warri-Sapele highway during the yuletide celebration.
The officer, who is a captain in the Nigerian Army was said to be coming to Warri, Delta State during the Christmas celebration when the tyre of their vehicle burst and somersaulted while they died instantly.
Although, there was no detail about the identity of the captain but sources said the deceased and his family were returning to base in Warri when their vehicle crashed into a ditch along the busy highway.
It was a sad atmosphere at the 82 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Effurun, near Warri when Daily Sun visited to confirm the incident.
Though people refused to speak to press but were discussing the incident in low voices.
A young lady whose identity could not be ascertained, was seen crying profusely, when the sad news broken to them.
Efforts made to speak to the Commander, 82 Battalion, Lt.Col Ali-Kofe proved abortive as he was said to have gone out, but the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Warri Central Hospital morgue.
