No fewer than 42 people are feared dead in a pipeline explosion at Agbagbo, Iru near high brow Victoria Island, Lagos.

Sources disclosed to Daily Sun last night that the eruption was as a result of activities of pipeline vandals scooping for fuel.

Our informants at the scene of the accident discloses that the death toll death might rise.
However, at the scene of the disaster, hundreds of litres of jerry cans litter the place.
It was further revealed that majority of the victims are women and children.
Efforts to reach the Inspectorate Department of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation proved abortive as almost everyone has gone on Christmas break.

It will be recalled that at about this time last year, a similar pipeline fire occurred at Abule-Egba, Lagos in which many innocent people were killed. Reliable sources also told Daily Sun that the victims might be given mass burial as several of them were burnt beyond recognition.
