Former NBA boss and President Umaru Yar'Adua's counsel, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) has called for the immediate investigation of the activities of former President Olusegun Obasanjo while in government for eight years.

Speaking in Ilawe-Ekiti at a ceremony put together by the community for former NBA chairman, Ikeja chapter, Dele Adesina(SAN), in commemoration of the honour of Senior Advocate of Nigeria conferred on him recently, Olanipekun, who described the EFCC crusade as a charade, said it was necessary to investigate Obasanjo since virtually all former governors and political office holders had been investigated and arraigned in court.
He said: "We are just deceiving ourselves in this country. We arraigned former governors and leave Obasanjo. I'm not saying Obasanjo should be arraigned, but he should be investigated and if they find anything wrong against him, he should be prosecuted."
He said former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, is being prosecuted for N1.3 billion in respect of a poultry project, adding that nobody has said the poultry belonged to Fayose, but that maybe some of the funds went to him. He, however, asked why Obasanjo Farms has not been investigated.
According to him, 'Femi Fani-Kayode said they were making a profit of N30 million every month from Ota Farms. Ota Farms was collapsing, as at the time Obasanjo became president. So, have we investigated?
'We must investigate how Obasanjo came about reviving it.
Maybe he has midas touch, maybe it was spiritual or physical or maybe it was economic magic, we don't know. But he didn't breathe that into Nigeria when he was president."
He assured Nigerians that President Yar'Adua would respect court judgment whichever way it comes.
'President Yar'Adua will respect judgments of courts. He won't at all try to twist it. He won't try to strangulate the judgment of court. He's a man of honour," Olanipekun added.
